Re: corners. Just a quick reminder that it was in fact Jubar Mohammad that got beat on a deep ball that gave Texas a chance to win the game... and it was in fact Jackson that provided "the swat" to preserve the UW win. That new duck can go kick rocks
Impossible to know, but how will NIL money effect players. Muhammad supposedly got a lot from Oregon to switch. Will he/they become complacent at their new school with lots of money flowing in. The NBA has been drafting underclassmen for a decade, how has that worked out? Previously, those players were throwing their bodies around to gain NFL bucks. Will they be doing the same? I personally like hungry.
1. Cherry pick plays all you want, but he was easily our best CB last year and the closest thing we had to a shutdown corner. It's a loss for us that he left.
2. That said, the main reason he isn't in the NFL right now is his height - projections I read had him as a UDFA and I suspect the same will be the case for the 2025 Draft. Tall receivers did take advantage of the height mismatch at times last year and that will be the case again this year. On a related note, the starting Husky WRs are pretty tall and long.
3. If there was a world where I had to choose between Muhammed and Prysock, I would take Prysock every time and twice on Saturdays.
And they did exactly that based on my "sources". He got at least a million dollars to jump to UNike. He got a pretty decent NIL "salary" to play for the UW last year so he is well aware of his NFL limitations. He is after all of the $$$ that he can get at the college level because he knows that it may be very difficult for him to make a lot of money in the NFL.
I like Jackson a lot, personally, and if Dixon has played well enough in practices to be more or less even with him then he has to have really upped his level of play. Prysock will make a pile of money in the NFL when he is done at the college level.
I prefer to go by carries at RB. That way we have 5th and 6th leading carriers (not counting Penix lol). More curious of how the backs can block. Dillon Johnson did a fabulous job in conference championship and Texas game picking up the rushers coming up the middle last year. Penix would've been sacked for sure if he wasn't there.
Technically there will be 5 DBs in the game at one time with the Husky position or whatever they call it. Is it safe to assume it will be a CB or are they just as likely to use a safety?
Husky fan here who would not be happy with 7-5. 8-4 is the minimum "happy" result, even with all the changes. The schedule is not that bad and allows essentially two warm-ups and another two manageable games before we go on the road. Reasonable worst case, the season should look like:
Weber State -- W (lol)
Eastern Michigan -- W (lol)
Cougs -- W
Northwestern -- W
@ Rutgers -- W
Michigan -- L
@ Iowa -- L
@ Indiana -- W
USC -- W
@ Penn State -- L
UCLA -- W
@ Oregon -- L
Even in this reasonable worst-case scenario, I could see @ Rutgers, Michigan, @Iowa, USC and @ Oregon going the other way, but if you've got a competitively talented team and a good coach (I think we have both), you should expect to win a couple you shouldn't (Michigan, @Iowa or @Oregon) and probably lose one you shouldn't (@Rutgers, USC). Those should balance out though. Excited for the season.

Good point. Although, Muhammad also bounced back to make a nice play on the very next snap.

Haha...do you wan a short guy who's Elmer's Glue sticky or a 6'4' guy who isn't? I think we're going to miss Muhammad.
Yeah shine that traitor. Hope his Duck gets got. Karma....
Traitor? Like Jonah Coleman, Prysock, and Will Rogers?
None of those players were at a rival school
Good point. But I don't get the traitor sentiment.
Muhammed was great for us. I wish we still had him. What would you have done if the Ducks had unloaded the bank for you?

I’m really hoping Cam Davis has a great year. He deserves it.
I am getting pumped about the wide receiver room. If Boston or Hunter surpass expectations, could UW also be WRU??
Run the damn ball!... jk jk jk

That position is more of a safety.

I know it's a guessing game, but we beat USC and UCLA? In our weakened, portal band aided, never-played-together state? I hope you're right!
Tim -- They're both at home, UCLA is a mess and I'll believe USC has a defense when I see it.
The Cow is curious about: How the RB's can slay IF the OL is green. Go! Huskies!
