Between this, Pete Carroll being on campus, Fisch saying NFL coaches are coming to spring camps, and a potential DC from the NFL, it really seems like Fisch is trying to lean hard into the “come play for me and raise your draft stock” angle.
He sounds like everything we need in the linebacker room to go along with the guys returning and the young up and comers. Exciting stuff! Great article Christian!
Jedd Fisch and the coaches he has on staff so far are doing a marvelous job in selling the program. No linebackers coach, no DC, but Parham bought in. This is a great sign that the program will be competitive under Fisch’s leadership.
Thats exactly what we want to hear. A kid that wants to come in and play not worried about how much money he is going to get. Love Carson and we need another BBK kind of player too.
Everyone hear Grubb is on a short list to be OC for Seahawks?
I am definitely hoping that Grubb gets the Seahawks job! Knowing that he was interested in being Husky head coach, it really does seem like he's ready for some kind of change from what he's been doing. Sounds like he wants to stay in Seattle instead of move to Tuscaloosa. We visited Tuscaloosa in December and while it was impressive to see the campus, there's really not much to recommend that city outside of the university. Also surprised to hear Shepherd and Huff's name as part of the Seahawks consideration. Don't know how accurate what I heard regarding those last two names is, but I would love to see all three join the Seahawks.
Speaking of not having a DC yet, what is going on with Inge? He didn't seem to be brought along to Alabama. Doesn't look like he'll be part of UW FB goings on, but Christian also mentioned that he was at Fisch's first meeting as some kind of indication that he was interested in being part of things here . And what happens with his contract?
Inge always looked like a solid and steadying force on the ‘23 coaching staff and, if I remember correctly, he stepped in at head coach for Fresno State’s bowl game when KDB (foreshadowing) left them to come to UW. Seems like Inge would offer good continuity from last season if he could stay on in a capacity at UW.
Re the continuity, do the players even want anyone from the previous coaching staff around? I wondered what if any was the feedback from players if AD Dannen polled them at all regarding how they felt about having anyone, eg Grubb, remain from the previous coaching staff. I heard that initially they were livid about KDB's sudden departure.
The absolute epitome of focus and discipline. Love and admire this young man's attitude. The last line of the article reminds me of the seen in the movie Colors where Sean Penn and Robert Duvall are sitting outside a gang member's house and Duvall's character impresses upon Penn's character some wise, sage advice about seeing the bigger picture (iykyk). Great story, Christian!
We will be competitive next year, despite all the journalists doing CYA approach. I believe we win at least 9 games and start 5-0, maybe even surprise Michigan! This is the kind of player we need. Now we just need to replicate these pickups on the O-line so we can block for Will Rogers and the stud RB group we are putting together!
I love this guy already. Linebacker mindset combined with a sense of purpose and humility. Welcome to Montlake!
Love that last quote. He’s hungry.

This is college football I like.

Havent heard Shepherd or Huff at all.
Could have just been some talking head who doesn't know anything.

Inge had a heart attack. Is home now and recovery going well.
