Setting the scene as Washington's Board of Regents call special meeting
Big Ten rumors swirl.
SEATTLE — So, what’s it going to be when the Washington Huskies return to practice on Saturday? More exploratory realignment reports? Another regents meeting? University maintenance staff halting practice to cut the Pac-12 logos out of the Husky Stadium turf?
Another camp practice, another off-field news alert that turned attention to Twitter: Washington’s Board of Regents scheduled a special meeting for 9 p.m. Thursday, with the agenda including only an executive session. You can tune in via Zoom, but you won’t hear much. I’ll explain that in a moment.
It feels like a decisive 24 or 48 hours for both Washington and the future of the Pac-12, which is on life support following the announced departure of Colorado (and the potential departure(s) of Arizona and others).
Here’s some additional context on tonight’s regents meeting, plus a few thoughts on the football practice we all would have preferred to pay far closer attention to.
