Can you expand on the talking point of 'UW is now in the B1G so suddenly they need bigger players?' It feel like the axiom on player acquisition has always been to get the biggest, strongest, fastest, most athletic players you can at every position. What about changing conferences could possible change that?
It seems that the Huskies are in on higher level recruits these days. Given the fact that commitments are now very much economic decisions, can we really complain about “Uncle Phil” when it appears we may have our own rich relatives?
Hi Christian, not a question but a story idea for you. It's been 25 years since the 2000 season and Rose Bowl team. A team that had so many close games and pulled them out every time led by Marques Tui. Any chance of doing a story on that team and some of those games and players. Thought it might be a good summer time read. Thanks!
Is there any discussion about UW’s open 2026 non conference game that remains open? Will it be week 2? Opponent? Feels like we are really late to still have an open game.
As far as I’m aware men’s rowing is not governed by the NCAA which I would assume means not subject to House. I don’t know if rowers get paid anything anyway but if they have NIL or fake NIL deals would they not be subject to the clearinghouse thing? Could you see any smaller sports that aren’t getting much revenue sharing money anyway try to break off from NCAA governance so they could avoid regulation (for now) on NIL?
Given Fisch's proclivity for playing younger players what do you think the class breakdown of the 1s and 2s looks like in a few more years (say Jedd's fifth season, 2029-2030)?
Fisch was only at AZ for 3 years, so it wasn't enough to see if that willingness to play younger players was a method to influx a lot of talent or a true principle he holds. so far at UW it could be either.
Fisch seemed to say on Softys show that the players were set up for 2 years. Is that a fact and if so are they legal binding contracts where they can't transfer....at least not as easily as they do now.
Lots of questions pertaining to House Settlement and impact to On Montlake, Dawgs Unleashed...how many potential avenues of payments (legal ones) are possible for an Athlete? Will both organizations continue or will On Montlake be sunset? What about the "salary cap" compensation limit based on a market value...does that include the revenue sharing from the school?
Just making sure you saw the FAQ I wrote last week, which tried to answer a lot of the collective/Dawgs Unleashed stuff. Let me know if further clarity is needed. Some of it is TBD:
Hi! Is there a pathway to the game being granted an anti-trust status and then unionize the players? Thanks

Any update with “On Montlake” merch?

Christian,
Is it less fun to cover the Huskies in the NIL era?
Gaze into your crystal ball. What will the landscape of BCS college football look like in 2030?
With the proliferation of AI everywhere these days, what is the potential for AI usage in play calling, perhaps even "real time" in games.
Does the new College Sports Commission have any teeth to enforce against cheating?
Can I buy that hat? Thanks!
I’m with you on that.

I think this is being tested right now. Wisconsin is suing Miami for just such an act.
