The Day After: 28 thoughts on Washington's win over Colorado State
What I'm thinking about a day later.
SEATTLE — For the record, I did get home from Washington’s season opener before 3 a.m., parking outside my house at precisely 2:57.
There is little use complaining — as Mark Twain probably once said, “it is what it is” — and I do enjoy the opportunity to settle into the day and spend time with family before heading to the stadium. I don’t relish the back end of these 8 p.m. kickoffs, though.
Know what I do relish? The chance to write my first Day After column of the year. Thanks to all who have subscribed recently — based on August sign-up numbers, you can tell there’s just a little bit more anticipation this year than in 2024 — and of course to those who are entering Year 3 as On Montlake subscribers.
Here are 28 things I’m thinking about after Washington’s 38-21 victory over Colorado State.
