It had to happen eventually.
After a too-good-to-be-true start to this season’s Big Ten picks, a rotten week brought me back down to earth a bit, as I correctly picked only two of seven games against the spread in Week 7.
(In my defense, Washington had yet to cover the spread as a road underdog under coach Jedd Fisch. There’s a first time for everything.)
There are only six games this week, all of the conference variety; Washington, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland and Purdue are idle.
At least five of the 12 teams in action this week will be starting their backup quarterback, whether for injury or performance reasons, and another two teams idle this week (Washington and Ohio State) have either already started a backup quarterback or will in the coming weeks.

Last week: 2-5 against the spread (5-2 straight up)
