SEATTLE — Landen Hatchett might finally make his 2026 debut on Friday night. against Iowa.
That’s been sort of tenuously suggested for a couple weeks, but on Monday, Washington Huskies coach Jedd Fisch said he would be “shocked” if UW’s fourth-year center doesn’t play for the first time since Nov. 8 of last season, two weeks after he broke a bone in his right wrist in a win over Illinois.
Hatchett had surgery in December, missed all of spring practices, had a second surgery in the spring and still wasn’t cleared for full contact by the end of training camp, nor by the end of nonconference play. He suited up for the Minnesota game, but was ruled out on the pregame availability report. He traveled to the USC game and was listed as a game-time decision, but didn’t ultimately play against the Trojans.
Is this finally the week?
“We would be shocked if that’s not the case,” Fisch said.
