We haven't lost An AD, we have 2 ADs and a head football coach (and a basketball coach) in 6 months time; the only D1 school to do so. We cannot passe the NIL test. No one who is serious about competing in this new NIL/portal work is willing to stay at a school that can't or won't get the money or build the capacity it takes to compete. …
We haven't lost An AD, we have 2 ADs and a head football coach (and a basketball coach) in 6 months time; the only D1 school to do so. We cannot passe the NIL test. No one who is serious about competing in this new NIL/portal work is willing to stay at a school that can't or won't get the money or build the capacity it takes to compete. This latest departure is devasting . . . the perception is no one will come to UW who wants to compete. There is a big payment due next year for the Stadium construction, I question if the currnet UW NIL model is sustainable. The first call for any AD candidate is to Cohen or Dannen, what will they say about the job and suport from UW administration? I'm sorry, really frustrated and this IS a problem for the health of UW athletics.
Remember, our AD that, along with Oregon, negotiated our terms to enter the Big 10, moved onto USC who already had a full media share. I'm sure she, like DB & Alabama, didn't know a thing about her USC offer.
