Taking a closer look at Washington's 2026 roster

It’s time for one of my favorite exercises of the offseason: diving deep into the facts and figures behind Washington’s roster, analyzing it from several different angles in order to identify trends and strategy.

I’m glad I waited until now. Just last week, the Huskies added Joseph Peko, a defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class. By my count, Peko becomes their 91st scholarship player for the 2026 season. Around this time last year, that number was 90, so the Huskies appear to be in the same ballpark. (As a reminder, the House v. NCAA settlement set the football roster limit at 105, with no scholarship limit therein.)

Barring any more surprise additions or defections, the Huskies’ roster is effectively set for 2026.

Let’s take a look at how it breaks down by position, eligibility, recruiting class, recruiting ranking, mode of arrival, home state and more.
