SEATTLE — It wasn’t the collarbone injury that found Rashid Williams at his lowest.
No doubt, it was unfortunate enough that Williams, then a third-year sophomore starting receiver, broke his collarbone on the first offensive play of Washington’s second game of the 2025 season, a 70-10 warmup against UC Davis.
That the 27-yard gain wound up his final catch of the year required a second instance of rotten luck. He was ready to return for Washington’s Nov. 8 game at Wisconsin, which would have allowed him to play in the Huskies’ final five games, counting the LA Bowl. But a fluky practice injury during the preceding bye week forced him back to the sideline.
“It was pretty hard for me, just trying to work back and get my collarbone strong and stuff,” Williams said after Tuesday's practice, “and then at practice, something bad happened.”
