What I saw and heard at Washington's Pro Day

Zach Durfee and Anterio Thompson tested well, and former Huskies dish on current players to watch.

Zach Durfee posted a 39-inch vertical leap on Monday.

SEATTLE — Pro Day found Zach Durfee at his most confident.

Before, and after.

“I feel like I crushed it, honestly,” Durfee said. “So I feel good right now. Happy.”

Athletic testing always was going to suit the former Washington Huskies edge rusher, whose feats of strength caught the attention of coaches and teammates not long after his arrival as a transfer from Division II Sioux Falls in the winter of 2023.

Standing officially at 6-foot-4 and ¾ and weighing 247.5 pounds, Durfee notched a 39-inch vertical leap Monday morning at the Dempsey Indoor center and said he was told his 40-yard dash was (unofficially) timed in the mid-4.5s (“I’m happy with that,” he said, though he acknowledged it was a touch slower than the 4.49 he hoped to run).

“I knew that today was going to go really well for me,” Durfee said. “I’ve known my whole life that the best part of my game is my athleticism. So I knew going in that I was going to have an awesome day.”

Now, the Dawson, Minn., native will wait to find out what the NFL thinks of him as a football player.
