Where Washington's freshmen stand after spring debut

Expect significant contributions from the Huskies' 2026 class.

Where Washington's freshmen stand after spring debut

It’s likely no freshman class in Washington history was as involved in spring practices as the Huskies’ 2026 signees.

That’s due partially to the simple fact that 20 of the 25 players — a group ranked No. 13 nationally by the 247Sports Composite, UW’s highest finish of the modern era — enrolled in January, a practice that has become commonplace only recently.

But the freshmen were more than just present. More than half of them took reps with the first- or second-team offense or defense at some point, including a few who regularly worked with the starters. After nine of UW’s true freshmen exceeded the four-game redshirt limit last year, it appears the Huskies expect similar contributions from their 2026 class.

Here’s an overview of where each player stands after 15 practices, from sure starters to obvious contributors and others who will battle for a spot on the depth chart come training camp.
